Here's my story and why I can help with your Business Plan:

This guide is based on over 30 years of experience
with business planning.
Including my
own
Business Plans and helping many different business clients
to get where they wanted.
The Guide is a summary of what I learned about
successful business plans as a business owner, entrepreneur,
executive, and consultant.
My own first Business Plan was a few ideas scratched out on
paper with a rough budget that showed how we might actually
be able to make money in a local distribution business for
computer hardware. Nobody cared about it at that stage, except
me and my partner. (But that's usually the first and best
reason to prepare a Business Plan.) We each put in a few
thousand dollars and launched the business. First month we
did $10,000 in sales, not a bad start. (Even if I admit, I did keep the
books open for a extra few days just to meet our objective.)
We were profitable from the third month. And we kept on growing that business up to $20
million in annual sales over eight years.
Of course, with growth we needed financing. To get it, the bank
said, "OK, but we need two things - personal guarantees and
a Business Plan." So we signed the personal guarantees
and I updated the Business Plan and my spreadsheets.
They were
good enough to get the first $50,000. Those loans grew
with the business until we eventually were up to $4.8
million in bank lines of credit with no personal guarantees.
A well-documented Business Plan is essential to that
process. (A good track record of profitability also helps.)
My next start-up venture was an e-commerce business with a technology
partner. Here we prepared more elaborate Business Plans to
support the "dot-com" business model of high development
costs, zero revenue and millions required in venture
capital funding. We got rave reviews for our Business
Plan, negotiated deals with important strategic partners
(another key use for your Business Plan) and started growing
the business. When the dot-com bubble
burst, we learned a lot more about business planning and managing sources of financing.
In my consulting business over the past several years, I have worked with
entrepreneurs, business owners and their lendors and
investors to develop, evaluate, prepare and present a wide
variety of Business Plans that delivered the results.
I have also been giving a regular course in Business Planning at Concordia University's
Business Administration program to help new entrepreneurs
get their businesses started.
All of that knowledge and experience has been put into
this simple, but complete Guide to Business Plans, the
Appendix of Financial Projections and the Bonus Sample
Business Plan.
The Complete 10-Minute Guide to Business Plans
The 10-Minute Guide consolidates all the best practices in
a short guidebook that will satisfy the needs of business
owners, investors and lenders.
The guide provides advice on the layout and
content for an effective Business Plan that will get the
response you want.
PLUS, it includes an
Appendix on Financial Projections
that gives you the recommended presentation for business
start-up costs, revenue and net income projections, balance
sheets, cash flows and financing requirements. It may
require another 10-minutes to read, but think of it as a
bonus at no extra charge.
ONE MORE BONUS: a
Complete Sample Business Plan Document
from an actual client (excluding the name and details of their
confidential plans). It gives you the important wording, style and
content that actually worked to get the business started
successfully with the bank financing that they needed.
Remember: this is what you get with this brief, but comprehensive
10-Minute Guide:
-
A clear description of the business planning process and the approach that works.
-
A proven Table of Contents for your Business Plan that covers
everyone's
questions and concerns.
-
The recommended style and content that will give
confidence to the readers of your plan.
-
Hints on the specific wording that will help convince
lenders and investors that you will deliver.
-
A complete set of sample financial projections as a model for your own plan.
-
A sample of an actual Business Plan that delivered
results.
OK, but is my advice any good?
Well, this is what clients and bankers have said about the
Business Plans that I've worked on with them:
-
"His experience and expertise were utilized to develop a
bullet proof business plan... the business, sales and
marketing know-how reflected in the plan will certainly
attract new investors."
President, Procurement Services Business.
I expect to hear the same happy feedback from you after you
read the 10-Minute Guide and apply it to your own Business
Plan. It will make a difference. It's an easy
decision.
AND DID I MENTION IT'S ONLY $14.95!
That's a great price! It would normally cost a client
anywhere from $2500 to $7500 for the advice in this little
booklet. Of course I would spend a lot more than ten
minutes with them, but my hourly rate quickly gets up to
those figures. You can
save a lot
by reading the Guide before you talk to any professionals
about their help.
You can also
avoid the mistake
of presenting a Business Plan that turns people off.
It is very difficult to get back in the door after they've
thrown you and your Business Plan out.
Get it right the first time
and you will have a much better chance of attracting the
financing and strategic partners that you are looking for.
